Why a local specialist beats a national company

Most solar companies install your panels and disappear. Here is what that difference looks like in practice.

National installer
Sales team takes your order, subcontractors do the work
Engineers driven in from outside your area
Call centre handles aftercare — nobody knows your system
Fault reported in summer, engineer booked weeks later
No ongoing relationship once installation is signed off
No1 Solar Care
Our own MCS engineers install every system we sell
Based in Dorset and Hampshire — your neighbours, not contractors
We maintain the systems we install, so we care how they are built
Something wrong? Call the same team who fitted your panels
Ongoing Care Plans keep your system performing for its full lifetime

Why now is the right time

The numbers on solar have shifted significantly. Here is what has changed.

20%

Cheaper than 2020

A 4kW system that cost £8,500 in 2020 now costs around £6,500. Panel hardware prices are forecast to fall a further 8 to 10% in the next 12 months.

0%

VAT until March 2027

The government removed VAT on residential solar installations. That is a 20% saving on what you would have paid before April 2022. After March 2027 it moves to 5%.

12p

Paid per kWh you export

The Smart Export Guarantee means your energy supplier pays you for every unit you generate and do not use. Octopus currently pays up to 12p/kWh on top of your bill savings.

Solar battery storage installation
Optional add-on

Add battery storage and use more of what you generate

Without a battery, unused electricity goes to the grid at export rates. With a battery, you store it and use it in the evening when your panels are not generating.

Increase self-consumption from around 50% to around 80%
Power your home in the evening from stored solar
Protect against future energy price rises
Charge from the grid overnight at cheaper off-peak rates
A 5kW battery typically adds £3,000 to £5,000 to system cost

All battery installations meet the PAS 63100:2024 safety standard and are fully compliant and insurable.
