Questions people ask us
Can you add a battery to my existing solar?
Yes. Most systems can take a battery. We check your panels and inverter first, then fit the battery that suits your setup, whoever installed it.
Is there really 0% VAT?
Yes. Home batteries, including ones added to existing solar, are 0% VAT until 31 March 2027. From 1 April 2027 the rate goes up to 5%.
Do your prices include VAT?
Yes. Every price we give you is the full price, with no VAT to add on.
What warranty do I get?
Two. The battery comes with the manufacturer's warranty, usually 10 years depending on the brand, and our installation work is covered by a 12-month workmanship guarantee. Our guarantee is insurance-backed, so you're covered even if we stopped trading.
Will a battery work in a power cut?
Not automatically. Most batteries switch off in a power cut unless a backup gateway is fitted. If backup matters to you, tell us and we'll include it in your price, or see our battery backup page.
I'm on the Feed-in Tariff. Can I still add a battery?
Yes. You'll need to let your FIT supplier know before it's fitted, and we'll set the battery up the right way. Tell us when you get in touch.
I've got GivEnergy. Can you still help?
Yes. GivEnergy has stopped trading, but we still repair, service and add storage to existing GivEnergy systems. Tell us what you've got and we'll advise what's worth doing.
