A battery stores that power so you can use it in the evening instead of buying it back at full price, or charge up cheaply overnight and run your home on it through the day. Why add a battery
0% VAT on battery storage, for now
Battery storage, including a battery added to solar you already own, is zero-rated for VAT until 31 March 2027. On a typical install that is somewhere between £600 and £1,750 you are not paying. After that date it is set to return to 20%, so there is a real reason not to leave it too long.

You do not need a new solar system to add storage. We retrofit batteries to existing setups of any age or brand, matching the right battery and inverter to your system.
